Tekstraton is seeking a seasoned Senior Cyber Security & SOC Analyst to join our team on-site in Calgary, AB. In this critical technical role, you will act as a frontline defender and technical leader, spearheading complex threat detection, proactive threat hunting, and incident triage to safeguard enterprise assets and mission-critical infrastructure across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex tier-3 incident response investigations, forensic analysis, and containment activities for advanced cyber threats.
- Architect, configure, and optimize enterprise SIEM, EDR, and SOAR platforms to enhance automated detection logic and minimize alert fatigue.
- Execute proactive hypothesis-driven threat hunting exercises mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework across network, endpoint, and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to identify security gaps, evaluate vulnerabilities, and enforce remediation standards.
- Mentor junior SOC analysts, run simulated tabletop exercises, and produce actionable executive-level incident briefing reports.
Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in a 24/7 SOC environment with progressive incident handling and forensics duties.
- Deep technical mastery of enterprise security technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike Falcon, or Defender for Endpoint.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or KQL) for security automation and telemetry query development.
- Active industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent credentials.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada and able to commute daily to our Calgary office.
