Tekstraton is seeking a high-caliber Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, scale, and operationalize our modern enterprise data foundation in Ottawa, ON (hybrid). In this role, you will lead the architecture and integration of Databricks and Snowflake environments, enabling robust analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence capabilities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable data platform infrastructure leveraging both Databricks and Snowflake.
- Design and optimize high-throughput batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and modern orchestration tools.
- Establish unified data governance, role-based access control, and enterprise-grade data security protocols.
- Drive platform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cloud infrastructure cost-optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, BI developers, and software engineering teams to accelerate data delivery.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of specialized experience in data platform or data engineering in production cloud ecosystems.
- Demonstrated production expertise architecting and managing solutions on Databricks (Lakehouse) and Snowflake.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed computing frameworks (Apache Spark).
- Working experience with modern data transformation and orchestration tools such as dbt and Apache Airflow.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
