Tekstraton is seeking a Senior Java Microservices Engineer to join our engineering team based in Montreal, QC on a hybrid basis. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend services that power core business operations across our distributed enterprise ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain robust microservices leveraging Java 17+, Spring Boot, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka for asynchronous processing and high-throughput data streams.
- Containerize applications and optimize deployments within Kubernetes clusters across hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Champion software engineering best practices including automated testing (TDD/BDD), CI/CD pipeline integration, and comprehensive code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, solution architects, and DevOps teams to drive architectural evolution and system resilience.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with deep expertise in Java and the Spring Framework.
- Proven track record architecting and deploying distributed microservices systems in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, alongside strong relational database proficiency (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Practical experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
