Tektend LLC is seeking an experienced Application Security Specialist to join our engineering and security team onsite in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will champion secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices, perform hands-on code assessments, and embed security automated controls into our deployment pipelines to safeguard critical enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead threat modeling exercises and architectural security reviews for web, mobile, and cloud-native applications.
- Implement, configure, and maintain automated SAST, DAST, and SCA tooling integrated into modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform manual code reviews and targeted application penetration testing to identify zero-day and logic vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to triage, reproduce, and remediate security vulnerabilities in line with OWASP and SANS benchmarks.
- Define and enforce application security policies, coding standards, and governance across all development teams.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of dedicated experience in application security, software development security, or product security.
- Deep understanding of the OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, and common vulnerability mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting or development using Python, JavaScript, Java, or Go.
- Demonstrated experience integrating security scanning tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Snyk, Veracode, or SonarQube) into CI/CD ecosystems.
- Relevant security certifications such as GWAPT, OSWE, CISSP, or CSSLP are strongly preferred.
- Ability to work full-time onsite at our modern corporate office in Tampa, FL.
